Poster Concept
Visualizing the Universal Need for Sleep
The poster transforms different sleeping positions into a repeated visual pattern. While the upper section represents the variety of ways people sleep, the custom lettering below delivers the central question: Is Sleep Essential?
The contrast between neutral gray figures and warm orange lettering creates a clear hierarchy, guiding viewers from observation to information.
Lettering Development
Expanding the Poster Lettering
The custom lettering was initially developed as the central graphic element of the poster. Human figures form the primary strokes, while pillows bend and connect around them to complete each letter.
After completing the poster, I expanded its visual language into a simplified alphabet style. The purpose was not to create a fully functional typeface, but to explore how the poster’s main lettering concept could work consistently across additional letters and words.

Process Book
Documenting the Visual Exploration
The project was documented in a process book that traces the development of the poster from initial research and visual experiments to the final lettering and alphabet studies.
The publication brings together sleeping-position observations, early sketches, lettering revisions, word tests, poster applications, and final outcomes. Rather than functioning as a separate project, the book serves as a visual record of the design process behind the poster.
The project demonstrates how a single poster concept can develop into a broader visual language and a documented editorial process.
